2 words 1 minute

This year was the winter olympics for the Olympics they have to have
the right equipment and respect when playing the sports.  
They play many sports like snowboarding skiing and other sports like luge
the skeleton Or the biathlon .They also have confidence
 by going on the television with many people watching.
Many people practice by going to train frequently so they
can try to get a metal in the Olympics.
At the Olympics they are very competitive because
all of them want to get a meta
l. At the Olympics there are 92 countries participating.

Today I made sure i wrote all the ideas in my head and I used all the words
on the word list.

Today we used the ‘2 words 1 minute’ challenge to write a description about the Winter
Olympics. After talking in pairs
about the things we knew about the winter Olympics we created a list of words (vocabulary)
that would help us write our
description. We chose the words
‘equipment’ and ‘respect’ to help us think about what we were going to write.

We talked about ideas with a partner, then we had 1 minute to put those ideas into
sentences.
We had to try our best to use all the words on our vocab list. After the minute was
up we had 2 minutes to reread
what we had written and make changes if anything didn’t make sense or if we had
words and punctuation
in the wrong place. When we finished checking we had 2 more minutes to carry on
writing our descriptions.

Stephen Hawking

Sadly Stephen Hawking as past away last week but we will not forget all the work he as done and the things that he made possible. Dallas and I have created this presentation to show the thing that we have learnt about Stephen Hawking. He was know as the the a very smart person. For this task we focused on using our own words and attributing images.

PBS Whakatauki

Today we have been learning about our school whakatauki. Our schools whakatauki is, Manaaki Whenua ( Care for the land ) Manaaki Tangata ( Care for the people ), Haere Whakamua ( Go forward)  This is our school whakatauki.

Tech

This week we had tech for tech we did a Google drawings for the google drawings we had to put photos that relate to us like our favourite food or animal and other things like that. I enjoyed this week of tech and excited for what we are going to do next week.

Mascot comparison

This week for inquiry we had to do a comparison of mascots the teacher said we had to choose  a mascot to do a comparison with Soohorang. The mascot that my group and I chose is Neve and Gliz they are the 2006 Winter Olympics mascots. 

Decimal problems

Today for maths I learnt different ways to subtract and add decimal problems that our teacher gave us my favourite problem was 99.9 + 9.99 because I read it wrong and did 9.99 + 9.99 instead.
