Summer Learning Journy

Today at at assembly we had some visitors from the board of trustees and the Next foundation. Another person who visited our school was Rachel. Mr Johnston, Rachel and Bill Kermode the Next foundation got up on stage and talked about the Summer Learning Journey. Some students from PBS also got to talk. Google blogpost

Today we played a game on google. To play this game we had to know how to program or code.  It was easy because i like to do coding in my spare time.

Teamwork poster

Yesterday me and a group of my friends Took some photos of what teamwork is. Teamwork is when all the people in your group participate and help each other to achieve the thing they want. It was fun making this poster and showing what teamwork is.

Summer Learning Journey Hazel Visit

On Friday we got a visit from Hazel. She told us if you participate in the Summer Learning Journey and come First, Second or third, we will get prizes. This was a great opportunity for us because it can help us with our learning while we are not at school. The prizes we will receive is Slime, fidget spinners, Lego and more.

Maths

Today for maths we were doing Geometry. We first got given a piece of paper with instructions. Then we got a paper were we linked the lines and we had to make sure we went across then up. After I linked the lines it became visible that it is a dog.

PE

On Friday after tech we split up into 3 groups PE,Social studies and Robotics I was in PE. For PE we played Infinity tag,Samoan Softball and Bench ball. My favourite game that we played was bench ball because it was a very fun to play.

Art

Today is the last day of art tech to get this far we had to do a lot of work. I enjoyed art tech for the weeks i have been here it interesting to learn how to do this.

Mussel Harvester

In maths we have been doing some  problems. This week we used times table and division to solve these problems. I have worked with AJ, Daniel, Eric & Christopher. 

Guy Fawks

 

This week me,Jericho,Christopher and Fau worked on a DLO on saving safe on Guy Fawkes! Remember to follow these rules but also other important ones too! Stay safe and remember always obey these simple rules as they could save your life and protect you for major injuries! Stay safe everyone!

badminton

This term for kiwi sport we have badminton. Our coach for the rest of the term is called Kevin. This week we learnt how to control the racket. The names that are used to control the racket is called forehand grip and backhand grip. For today we played rally. To play this game you would need a racket, a shuttle and a partner. You have to hit the shuttle back and forward and see how much times you could hit it.

Screen Castify

Last week we used Screencastify to record our learning. To use Screencastify we had to plan and write a script of what we were going to say. Then you open the app and record. Make sure you talk clearly and loud if you are  in a classroom. Once your Screencastify has been completed you can publish it to your blog. You need to make sure that anyone with the link can view and you need the embed code. 

School production

This term we are celebrating the 60th birthday of Panmure Bridge School every class in our school had a decade our culture groups are involved as well. For our class we danced to Footloose I see red and Staying alive I liked the performances and it was fun doing them.

Kiwi can

Today for kiwi can be played hand soccer it was very interesting and i enjoyed it. Next we played a game called 10 down. You have to pass the ball to your team members and they have to touch the ground with the ball 10 times.

Scale drawing

Today I finished my scale drawing. I drew an animated character,  it took time to copy all the hair and color it in. We had to draw the grid lines on top of the original picture. Then we copied the original and made it twice as big. This is a 1:2 ratio.

The princess bride

This Term for our media study we have been learning about the Princess Bride. We had to learn about the prologue. What the main characters were and how the hummer was used in the story.

Party Vote jigsaw

This week we are learning about elections. For this activity we had to figure out the party names, the party leader, what they look like, the logo of the party and the locations of the signs for us to vote for them.

Read An EBOOK day

Today we used the Tamaki Collage Overdrive #Ebooklove. Today is read An Ebook day on 18 September. It is important increase our skills to learn more and get smarter I read a book called This is where it ends it is about a boy getting ready for a running race We are allowed to enjoy reading books in our free time.

Tech

Today for tech we had to do our designs on a peace of paper and when we are finished we are going to do our carving. I thought this was exciting because it was fun finding the patterns and drawing the patterns. I am excited to see what i'm doing next.

Kiwi Can: Taking Risks

Today  at Kiwi Can our lessen for today was risks we played a game called Hand soccer that had risks we also played a game called bib bob bounce. For Hand soccer the rules were not to hit the ball with your feet and try to get the ball into the goal. To play bib bob bounce you have to make a circle the person in the middle has to point to someone and say bib bob bounce if the person that he pointed to says bang the same time the person in the middle said bounce your safe. I thought it was hard not to wack the ground for hand soccer.

Learning to use synonyms

Today me and my writing group learnt to use synonyms. I worked with my partner Dallas. We had to change the boring words into interesting words using synonyms. We thought of different words that mean the same thing to make our sentences more noticeable. I thought this was exciting because we had to look for the synonyms using google dictionary then make sure they made sense in the sentence.

Food Tech

Today I went to Food Tech what we made was Beef Cobbler they were delicious. Me and my partner Freeman were partners today because our partners are away.  It was awesome to make I had a good time making them and I want to know what i'm doing  next week.  

Read Theory

Today my class did Read Theory we had to read a quiz and answer the question this story was about a kid called Max. Max was getting books while his Mum was checking her email. When his Mum came back he check  out his book and his Mum brought a picture of the ocean and that she can keep that for 3 months. I got 71%.

Tech

Today is our third rotation. My group went to Art one of the things we did was shading the shapes example: there is a box we had to shade the the dark side and don't shade the other halve. Next week we are doing  our patterns and when we are finished we are going to carve the patterns we made. 

Why it's great to be me

Its great to be me because I enjoy playing with my friends and family. I like my friends because they are loyal friendly nice to me and stick up for me if something bad happens. I love my family because they check if i'm ok and care for me even if I did something wrong.

Dance

Today my class and I practiced our dance for our school production. We are set up in three groups. One is Footloose, which is my group, and the other two groups are I See Red and Staying Alive. We used rewindable learning because we took a video and watched it again so we can practice more even when Zoe, our dance teacher, isn't here to help us.

Today we were learning when to use a and when to use an before a word.
If a word begins with a vowel (a-e-i-o-u) or a silent h (eg - hour) , we use an . We use a for all other words. The photo shows the sentences we wrote to practice  using a and an.

Siblings

I have the most annoying fun and worst siblings ever they bully me they even tease me but when they do that they get a growling because i end up telling my mum on them then because i told on them they start to bully me again

44 words in one minute

Which annoyed me. When they are nice i really have a great time with them like my brother lets me stay in his room and i like to watch him play game because he's really good at it and like when my sister lets me take control over sky TV So i can watch TV and i mostly like it when my brother and sister leave home with my mum.

70 words in two minutes

Our challenge today was to write my ideas clearly so that they make sense. We had only 4 minutes to do this in, and 1 minute to check our writing.

Our task was called '2 words... 1 minute we had to choose one of the words then power write for 1 minute, count our words, carry on for 2 more minutes, then finish with 1 more minute. It was fun and I found it hard to write the words in that much time

Food Tech

Today I went to Food Tech what we made was scones they were delicious and it was awesome to make I had a good time making them and I want to know what i'm doing  next week.  

Let me tell you something about...

Let me tell you something about lunchtimes at PBS. When the bell goes our teacher sends us out and we all race out the door like bees coming out of a hive. After we gobble our lunches we race down the stairs. Once we’re at the bottom of the stairs all we can see is children of all sizes and ages racing around like aliens with big eyes. I don’t even think they know why they’re racing around! It’s like a race when we run over to the court to play handball. Everyone runs because everyone wants the best spot in the game. I always try to get the King spot because that means you start the game, and I like starting the game. We do this until the bell rings telling us all that lunchtime is over. If you stand back and look you will see that most people walk slowly back up the stairs, which is quite different from the start of lunchtime.

Today my Writing group and I wrote a four minute story about lunchtime at PBS. After I finished my story I had to proofread it then work with our partners to read each other's story. After that we added things to fix sentences that didn’t make sense. What I thought I did well was remembering to put in full stops and I tried to hook in the reader.

This week Alfonso,Zane,Lyric and I did a google drawing about a 25 Word Summary we did this because we are showing how important oral was. It was exciting and I hope you like it.

Maui and the Sun

Today Zane and I work together and we made this about Maui and the sun because we are learning about Maori myths and legends this was a fun activity and i really enjoyed it and I hope you like it.

Animation for Winter Solstice

Today Jericho and I learnt about the winter solstice. We had to make a animation on what a winter solstice is. Did you know that when it is summer the earth is tilted 23.5 degrees. And when it is winter some of the earth is not facing the sun.

Winter Solstice in Switzerland

Today Jericho and I learnt about the winter solstice in Switzerland and how they would celebrate it.  We had to use our research skills to find out the information about how the people in Switzerland. In Switzerland it is one of their favorite celebration because they get a lot of sun light and more heat.

The legend of the six sisters

Today we had to listen to a story about the the seven sisters and their mum Matariki  the sisters and Martariki went to go see their grandma earth to help everything to grow big and strong to help us grow food and clothes  

Dance

Today I Tie and me did Dance we had to record our Dance it was hard to figure out witch dance move we would do but we managed it and it was fun we got our video on the school iPad. It was awsome to do and I cant wait to see what were doing next week.

Today I did Read Theory my passage was about a new painting when Vinnie  likes the new painting and Esmealda hates the new painting.

Food Tech

Today I went to Food Tech I made a fruit salad it was awesome to make and delicious to eat my favorite part was when i put whip cream on it then it was very delicious I had a very great time and I cant wait to see what we make next week.

Kilikiti

Yesterday we watched a video on Kilikiti. Kilikiti is similar to cricket. Kilikiti is also a tradition to Samoan culture. I didn't know that kilikiti was so famous in Samoa until now I learnt how to play the game and I hope to play it some day. 

Food Tech

Today I went to tech we made milkshakes our food teachers name is Mrs Tuipulotu. She showed us what to do and how to do it she showed us how to do the blender and what to take out of our trays. We made milkshakes we had to put two scoops of ice cream and two cups of milk.

Dance

Today we did Dance first we did our warm up that we wrote and Sanujan and Freeman showed us their warm up. Then we  learnt a new kind of dance we had to do moves and make shapes with our partner my partner was Tai it was hard to think of new shapes. I had a great time with my partner doing our dance

Read Theory

Today my group and I have been doing read theory we had to read the passage and answer the questions about the passage. My passage was about a reporter reporting a rugby player I got 83% out of 100% I cant wait to do another passage.

world of maths

On Tuesday lS2 and LS1 went to world of maths with Charles we were split into groups of four. Every group went to a table to solve maths puzzles. My favorite activity was the building one we had two build a bunk the activity that I thought was hard was the car activity because we go messed up and didn't know what to do. We didn't know what to do with the brick activity until Mr Wong helped us and told us how to do it.  We worked ass a team with all the activity's but one of my favorites we done was the boat activity we used addition. 

Dance

Today I did dance with my partner we had to search down different ways to warm up on youtube. Our teacher put on a video why its important to warm up before doing sports I learnt that warming up would stretch your blood veils and more air would come out. My partner and I showed Mrs Linda and Ma'ata our warm up and they showed us their warm up. We wrote on their paper to improve their warm up and they wrote some thing on ours ass well.

Today at tech I have started to do the design on my jewellery holder  at the top all I have to do now is to glue my two pieces together  and put hooks on.  This is a photo of me thinking of designs I had a fantastic day today at tech.

Current Events

Today my partner Lyric and I finished our current events. We read about China banning ivory by the end of 2017. They are banning ivory because if they keep killing all of the elephants and rhinos they will become extinct. I think that they should ban buying and the selling of ivory because the animals are likely to become extinct.

Te Oro

Today People in my class went to Te Oro to do a performance about agent of change. Other schools also did presentations. I really enjoyed  them all. I think Panmure Bridge school did  a great job of showing us how to respect the environment.
